Scouting the Florida Atlantic
The Owls are 23-17, having dropped 2-of-3 against LA Tech over the weekend. Within C-USA, Florida Atlantic is even at 6-6, grabbing a series win over Southern Miss, and falling 1-2 to UAB. The team is yet to play a top 25 team, but posted a sweep over B1G opponent Penn State, 3-2, 3-2, in late February. The Owls longest win streak has been four games, which they did by taking two against C-USA's Marshall, Michigan State and Virginia Tech.

Florida Atlantic is led by Christina Martinez, who has a team-high .344 batting average, while also topping the Eagles with four, three-baggers. Melissa Martinez leads the team in home runs with two, while Jordan Stovall's 21 RBI is also an Owl best.

Samantha Messer is the clear ace of the Florida Atlantic pitching staff, grabbing 11 wins in 16 starts, while holding opponents to a .222 batting average. Her 1.79 ERA is within the top five for C-USA, while Amanda Wilson's .215 opponent batting average is also a fifth place standing within the conference.

All-time vs. Florida Atlantic
The Owls hold a commanding 47-28 record over FIU all-time and took last year's series, 2-1, with 3-0 and 3-1 wins the first week of May.
