TUSCALOOSA, Ala (October 13, 2023) - The FIU cross country program concluded its regular season Friday at the Alabama Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. 

RESULTS 

The women's team earned a 14th place finish of 25 programs, while the men finished in 21st. 

The Panther women were once again by Valerie Lastra, who finished the 6K course in 20:36 for a 16th place finish in a field of 228. A trio of FIU freshmen followed behind, with Lorena Bartakovic, Ane Martin Del Campo, and Ania San Roman Lopez all finishing under 22 minutes, and Lisa Adjouadi rounding out the scoring for the Panthers, who totaled 308 points. 

Josh Webster, Dennis Moreno, Ryan Jones, Jonathan Reyes, and Joseph Coyle scored for the men. 

"We've put a good amount of work in the throughout the regular season," said head distance coach Jermaine Felix. "Now it's time to prepare for conference and be ready to execute in post-season racing." 

The Conference USA Cross Country Championships will take place October 28 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
