DALLAS, Texas – FIU women's soccer is slated the No. 4 seed in this week's Conference USA Women's Soccer Championship to be played at the Robert Mack Caruthers Field in Ruston, La. the league office announced Sunday.
The Panthers (8-5-4, 3-2-3 CUSA) will face No. 5 seed Sam Houston (5-6-4, 3-3-2 CUSA) in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 4:30 p.m. CT / 5:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+. The Panthers secured a 3-0 clean-sheet victory over the Bearkats on the road in their conference matchup on Sep. 21.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams in the Conference USA Tournament. FIU last appeared in the tournament in 2013, their first season as part of Conference USA. It also marks the highest-seeding for FIU in the tournament.
New Mexico State will await the winner of FIU/Sam Houston for the semi-finals, which is set for Friday, Nov. 3 at 4:30 p.m. CT / 5:30 p.m. ET.
