MIAMI — FIU volleyball's Amber Beals and Mackenzie Morgan were both recognized by Conference USA as members of the All-Academic Team, as announced on Friday afternoon.
Beals and Morgan have both played an integral part to FIU's success this season, both on and off the court.
Beals, a senior from Columbus, Ohio, has appeared in 28 matches this season, collecting double-digit digs 10 times. She posted a season-high 22 digs at FGCU on Oct. 17 and has 14 or more digs in five of FIU's last seven matches. She currently holds a perfect 4.0 GPA in Mass Communication and is pursuing her MBA.
Morgan, a junior from Bellville, Texas, has racked up 167 kills this season, playing in 21 matches for FIU. She is averaging 2.49 kills per set and has posted double-digit kills in eight matches. Morgan currently holds a 3.94 GPA in Biological Science entering the second semester of her junior year.
