MIAMI - The FIU men's soccer team punched its ticket to the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship, marking the Panthers' third consecutive appearance in the tournament, as announced by the national selection committee Monday afternoon.

FIU will host a first-round matchup against Mercer at FIU Soccer Stadium this Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. ET. It will be streamed on ESPN+.

General admission tickets start at $10, while youth pricing is set at $5. Click the link here for tickets. The first 600 students will receive free entry to the match with a valid FIU One Card courtesy of the Student Government Association. Additional student tickets will be available for purchase at the gate for $3. Complimentary student guest passes will not be available for this NCAA tournament event.

"I'm so excited for the boys," said Head Coach Kyle Russell. "They worked so hard and they came in fit. Every training meant something. Every game meant something. I'm extremely pleased for our group."

The Blue & Gold are in the midst of a nine-win season, including five American Athletic Conference wins, a raod victory over Oregon State, and a shutout at home against AAC Tournament Champion Charlotte.

The Panthers will be playing in the NCAA Division I Tournament for the 13th time in program history. It will be the third-straight season under Russell that FIU has appeared in the NCAA Tournament.
 
In last year's appearance, the Panthers won their second-round matchup at home against New Hampshire in a captivating match that ended in a penalty shootout, before falling in the Sweet 16 at Duke.
 
Under Russell, FIU has put together strong campaigns in the past four season with a win total of 35, including a CUSA regular season championship in 2021, and AAC regular season and conference championships in 2022.
