Four Men's Soccer Members Selected to AAC All-Conference Teams

Mustre earns First-Team after a standout 2023 season

MIAMI –  Four members of the FIU men's soccer team have been honored with selection to the American Athletic Conference All-Conference , which was released on Wednesday by the league office.
 
Junior forward Eduardo Mustre was tabbed to the All-Conference First Team, while Bernardo Dos Santos Monteiro, Joao Domingues, and Owen Travis were selected to the All-Conference Second Team.
 
Mustre has shined in his first season donning the Blue and Gold, recording a team-high of 11 goals and 24 points and starting in all 17 matches. His 11 tallies are the most by a FIU Panther since 2018, while sitting second in the American. This season, the Córdoba, Mexico native has a pair of multi-goal games (vs Oregon State 8/24) and (vs Charlotte 10/27), in addition being named to the weekly AAC Honor Roll four times throughout the duration of the regular season.
 
Dos Santos Monteiro makes the American All-Conference team for the second consecutive season after being a key contributor on the attacking line on his junior campaign. The forward has played in all 17 matches, second in goals (6) tying his career-high and points (14). In addition, Bernardo logged a pair of assists, a career-high for the junior. The Cascais, Portugal native secured the game-winner on the road against the Memphis Tigers on 9/23, earning him a pair of AAC weekly honor list selections.
 
After being selected to the All-Rookie team in 2022, Domingues places his name on the All-Second team in 2023. The sophomore has played in 13 matches with three assists, a goal, and five points on the campaign. Domingues scored his first collegiate goal against South Florida on Sep. 30, while logging assists in conference matches against Temple on Sep. 16 and Charlotte on Oct. 27.
 
In his first year with the Panthers, Owen Travis makes the All-Second team after a outstanding season on FIU's backline. Travis has played and started in all 17 matches this season, logging a team-high of 1,498 minutes. His play on defense held opponents to 18 goals this year, which is the least given up by FIU in a single-season since 1991. In addition, the junior made the AAC honor roll three times throughout the season.
