GAINESVILLE, Fla (November 9, 2023) - The FIU cross country program is set to compete in the NCAA South Regional Championships, taking place at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville Friday morning.

The women's 6K is set to begin at 8:30 AM, with the men's 10K starting at 9:30. 

The FIU women are coming off a fourth place at the Conference USA Championships, which tied its best finish in program history at the event. 

The Panther women will compete in Gainesville, along with Ryan Jones on the men's side. 

"Postseason competition is always meaningful, and this is another chance to prove to progress that's been made in this program," said head distance coach Jermaine Felix. "We're excited to try and perform at our best on this stage." 

The Panthers had a school record four all-conference performers at CUSAs, led by Andrea Loizidou, whose 10th place mark led the Panthers, and was the highest finish at conference for FIU since Sherilene Gelderblom's sixth-place mark in 2017.
