FIU Women's Golf Leads in First Through 36 Holes at Sea Best Invitational

Three Panthers sit within the individual top 10 after two rounds.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Three Panthers finished within the top 10 after 36 holes of action on Monday, as the FIU women's golf teams leads in first place after the first two rounds of the Sea Best Invitational, hosted by Jacksonville, at the par-72, 6,084-yard San Jose Country Club. Riley Hamilton (+3) and Casey Yu (+4) lead the Panthers tied for fourth and tied for seventh, respectively, while Arlynn Spence (+5) finished tied for 10th. 

FIU (+20) holds a two-stroke lead over Houston Christian (+22) and led through the entirety of the day prior to recording a team score of 596 through two rounds

Hamilton opened with a 74 prior to finishing the day strong with three birdies in the second round to record a second-round 73 that'd place her within the field's top five. Yu opened with a 75 in the first round prior to also tallying three birdies in the second to card a 73 as well, further supporting the team's first-place cushion. 

Arlynn Spence recorded a team-high five birdies on the day to remain within the top 10 after a first-round 74 and second-round 75, while Karissa Kilby (+8) and Kelly Shanahan (+11) rounded out FIU's lineup tied for 22nd and tied for 40th, respectively. 

Jenna Chun (+10) competed as an individual, finishing the day tied for 34th

The Panthers return to action Tuesday, Feb. 14, for the final round in Jacksonville, Fla., at the Sea Best Invitational.
