MIAMI – FIU women's soccer junior
Deborah Bien-Aime has been honored as the Panthers' recipient of the Conference USA Fall Spirit of Service Award for a second consecutive year, which was announced by league officials on Friday afternoon.
The award honors student-athletes with significant community service endeavors, good academic standing and participation in their sport. The Spirit of Service award is presented three times throughout the season, with Friday's honorees representing women's cross country, football, women's soccer and volleyball.
Bien-Aime, a 2022 CUSA Fall Spirit of Service Award Recipient, serves on the Student-Athlete Leadership Council where she led several Health and Safety initiatives, including Sun Safety advisories in partnership with the new sunscreen sponsor. She participated in various service events, dedicating over 60 hours in community service. In addition, the junior has been a honoree of FIU's Deans List and the CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal and Honor Roll. Bien-Aime appeared in 14 games for the Panthers and made one start as a defender as she helped the defense post seven shutouts in the 2023 season.
