Van Rensburg vaulted 4.22m, part of clearing all of her first five heights on her first attempt. It is the third CUSA gold medal in her FIU career. Luciana Gomez-Iriondo, a freshman, earned her first medal as a Panther with the bronze after finishing fourth at CUSA Indoor.

In the heptathlon, Fabiola Declet completed her notable weekend by taking silver en route to breaking her own FIU record in the event - scoring 5285 points.

"Fabi giving us eight points in not just the long jump but the heptathlon was big-time," said Heberling. "She was ready for her moment this weekend."
Junior Michaelle Valentin continued her stellar season with a silver in the hammer, throwing 61.72m. She will now gear up for the discus tomorrow, where she is the top seed in the championships.

On the men's side, freshman Alex Gabossy earned a podium trip by taking bronze in the high jump with a mark of 2.05m.
