MIAMI – FIU softball senior Bailey Grossenbacher and freshman Kally Meredith were each named to the All-Conference USA Softball second team, which was announced on Tuesday by league officials.
 
Meredith was also recognized with selection to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team.
 
Grossenbacher enjoyed a breakout season after missing the majority of the 2023 campaign due to an injury.  She ranked seventh among CUSA leaders with a .385 batting average in conference games.  Her slugging percentage of .597 was the eighth-best total in the conference and her .349 overall batting average was 10th among league leaders.
 
She also provided the power numbers for the Panthers this season as her seven home runs led the squad and was the 12th-highest total in CUSA.  Grossenbacher's 30 RBI paced FIU and sat as the 10th-best total in CUSA.
 
Meredith posted a tremendous rookie campaign as she posted the third-best batting average in league games among conference leaders at .427.  She tabbed a league-best 32 hits in conference games and her 12 stolen bases in CUSA games sat as the second-best total. 
 
Her overall batting average of .383 ranked fourth overall in CUSA and her 57 hits tied for third-best in the conference.  She had the second-highest stolen base total in the conference at 21.  She ranked fourth nationally and tops in CUSA with an average of 0.29 sacrifice bunts per game.
 
She ranked as the fifth-hardest player to strikeout in CUSA this season and started all 49 games she played in center field and recorded only three errors in 129 chances for a .977 fielding percentage.  Tabbed a total of 17 games with multiple hits this season.
 
Meredith closed the season with at least one hit in 21 of final 23 games overall.
