MIAMI – FIU Women's Soccer player Dominique Marcelli has been honored with the Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarship on Thursday afternoon.
Marcelli, a former Dean's list recipient and National College Athlete Honor Society Award winner, is set to graduate this upcoming summer as a Psychology major with a minor in Marketing.
She was named on to the 2022 CUSA All-Academic Second Team as well as received College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors. Marcelli was accepted for her Master of Science in Human Resource Management for the Fall of 2024.
2024 marks the 16th year the award has been named after Dr. Jim Castañeda, who served Rice for 46 years as an educator, coach and Faculty Athletics Representative before he passed in 2008.
Every season, CUSA grants the $4,000 scholarship to distinguished graduates selected by the league's Faculty Athletics Representatives and approved by the Conference USA Board of Directors.
