Eight Panthers Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

MIAMI (July 17, 2024) - Eight FIU student-athletes were named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team, recognizing their performance in the classroom and on the track over the course of the 2024 campaign. 

"We're extremely proud of these athletes," said head coach Ryan Heberling. "They continue to display that you can be elite in all aspects here at FIU." 

To qualify for USTFCCCA academic honors, student-athletes had to maintain a 3.25 GPA for the academic year and finish in the top 96 for any championship individual event for the indoor season. They must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships for the outdoor season. 

The athletes recognized include - 

Women

Fabiola Declet | Recreation and SPort Administratoin 
Nicole Janse Van Rensburg | Natural and Applied Sciences 
Hannah Jansen | Early Childhood Education 
Valerie Lastra | Engineering 
Michaelle Valentin | Recreation and Sport Administration 

Men

Raynell Chambers | Physical Science 
Alex Gabossy | International Business 
Ethan Riley | Sport and Exercise Science 

The FIU women were also named as an all-acedemic team, carrying a 3.31 team GPA. The criteria for being distinguished for this include -
