AJ Ricketts became the voice of the Panthers in August of 2017.
Ricketts hosts 'FIU PantherTalk' weekly on Bally Sports Florida, and broadcasts FIU football and basketball on ESPN+.
Ricketts came to FIU from Wilmington, North Carolina, after working two years as the sports anchor with WECT/FOX Wilmington. While at WECT, Ricketts chronicled the back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances by UNCW, while also covering ACC Tournaments around the region. He earned first place in Sports Reporting at the annual RTDNAC Awards, honoring broadcast journalism throughout the Carolinas.
Ricketts also broadcast games for ACC Network Extra, and has been on the call of MLS, NWSL, and USL games over the past year.
Ricketts attended the University of Miami, where he ran Cross Country & Track and served as the voice of UM Women's Basketball, and also called the baseball team's 2015 run to Omaha. He interned for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the AA affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, and WEAR ABC 3. He can be found on Twitter
