LONG BEACH, Calif (April 13, 2024) - The FIU track and field program concluded action in Long Beach Saturday at the Beach Invitational, highlighted by Devin Mannings resetting his school record in the discus.
Mannings' mark of 57.36m eclipsed the record he set just weeks ago at the Texas Relays of 54.69m. The junior placed seventh in a field of 82 athletes.
Luciana Gomez-Iriondo excelled in the pole vault, leaping 3.91m to earn a tie for second. Christiana Ellina saw another impressive performance in the javelin, throwing 51.75m for a fourth place mark in a field of 42 athletes. In the 1500, Lisa Adjouadi placed ninth of 47 athletes with a time of 4:43.80. Raynell Chambers put together an 11th place performance in the 400, running 48.40 in a field of 67 competitors.
FIU leaves long beach with both Mannings and Ethan Riley resetting their own school records in their respective events.
The Panthers will have a bye week before concluding the regular season at the UNF East Coast Relays in Jacksonville.
