IRVING, Texas (Dec. 20, 2016) – FIU's
Rebecca Quesnel has been named the Conference USA Diver of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Quesnel won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving programs versus Georgia Southern as FIU picked up its seventh-straight dual victory on Thursday, Dec. 15. FIU downed Georgia State, 218-138, to improve to 4-0 at home this season.
Quesnel posted season-high scores of 296.25 (1-meter) and 301.65 (3-meter) versus the Eagles; both were NCAA Diving Zone B qualifying marks. The first place finish in the 1-meter was the third of the season for the Burlington, Ontario, native, while her victory in the 3-meter was fourth of the year. Both scores are the top scores in C-USA this season.
Quesnel led a diving corps that swept both programs, outscoring the Eagles, 36-8.
The award is the 15th of Quesnel's career.
FIU will next host a tri-meet versus Yale and Cornell on Thursday, Dec. 29. The event is slated to begin at 5:00 p.m. from the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center.
