FIU DAZZLERS
For 34 years, the FIU Dazzlers have set the standard—building a legacy rooted in excellence, resilience, and national recognition. With multiple podium appearances on the national stage, this iconic program is proud to return to the NDA College National Championship, continuing a tradition of elite performance and competitive drive.
 
Being a Dazzler means more than dancing on the sidelines—it means representing Florida International University on some of the biggest stages in the country. From the bright lights of Las Vegas to the energy of Nashville, Atlanta, and beyond, our dancers experience the dynamic versatility of travel, competition, and performance at the highest collegiate level. Every season brings new opportunities, new cities, and unforgettable moments that define a lifetime.
 
The FIU Dazzlers are a team fueled by passion, power, and precision. Our choreography blends technical excellence with performance quality, adaptability, and style—preparing dancers to excel in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. This is a program where growth is expected, commitment is celebrated, and excellence is the standard.

AUDITION PREP CLASSES
Audition Prep Classes are a wonderful way for you to train for Dazzler auditions. Meet the coaching staff, grab some insider tips, and ask any questions you may have about what it takes to be an FIU Dazzler!
Dancers 15+
Monday, March 16th- 6:00-8:00pm

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

We seek dancers who are hungry to grow and ready to contribute to a championship-driven culture. Dazzlers demonstrate strong technical foundation, physical stamina, and versatility across multiple styles, with the ability to quickly learn and execute complex choreography. Just as important is mindset—team-oriented, disciplined, coachable, and driven. Time management and accountability are essential, as dancers balance academics with rehearsals, performances, travel, and competition preparation. We value individuals who welcome constructive feedback, push past limits, and uplift their teammates both on and off the floor.
 
An FIU Dazzler is more than a performer—they are ambassadors of Panther pride, leaders of school spirit, and part of a legacy that spans over three decades. If you’re ready to chase excellence, travel the nation, and leave your mark on a nationally recognized program, this is where your next chapter begins.
 
Skills to expect include:
·      Turn Combinations
·      Leaps/Jump Combinations
·      Flexibility and leg extensions
·      Acrobatic Technique
·      Throughout the audition the most important quality is confidence!

REGISTRATION
Please bring the following items:
1) Completed and signed FIU ATHLETICS FACILITIES RELEASE WAIVER 
2) Full body photo in audition attire
3) Photo copy of FIU student ID card
4) Copy of Fall schedule
          -First Year Student- Letter of Acceptance 
5) Audition Fee- $35
 
Day 1- Preliminary Round
Please be sure to arrive knowing the choreography for the FIU FIGHT SONG
-Jazz Routine- taught in person
-Hip Hop Routine- taught in person
 
Day 2- Final Round
-Solo Routine
·       prepare 30-45 second solo routine
·       style of your choice
·       showcase your best skills 
·       be sure music has been edited/cued
·       email instructions for music submission will be shared once Finalists are announced 

ATTIRE
Women
·       Dress to impress
·       Crop top and shorts with nude tights  
·       Jazz shoes, sneakers, tuners 
·       Performance earrings only- no other body jewelry
·       Performance hair and makeup
Men
·       Sleeved t shirt and gym shorts or pant
·       Dance shoes and sneakers
·       No piercings 
·       Well groomed and clean shaven

ELIGIBILITY

  • Must be an FIU registered student for the 2026 Fall & 2027 Spring semester. 
    • Undergraduate student, full time-minimum12 credits
    • STEP Program
    • Graduate Student- minimum 9 credits
  • Students must be enrolled in classes for Fall 2026. Students accepted for Spring 2027 are not eligible to audition. We recommend continuing your training, and we hope to see you for the following year. 
  • Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA
  • If you are a first year or transfer student, you MUST provide a letter of acceptance into the university.
  • You must be available for Team Physicals, Summer Intensives, and the start of summer practices.
REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
Please consider your availability for all listed dates prior to auditioning, you must be available and present for all dates.
  • Team Meeting- Monday, May 18th- 6:00pm
  • Medical Clearance- FIU Athletics Training Room 
  • Summer Intensive Week- June 22nd-25th
  • Season Practices - beginning July 6th
  • Team Practices- Mondays & Wednesdays 8:30am-11:30am
  • Competition Practices- Fridays 8:30am-11:30am
  • Additional practice times are based on events 
  • NDA Camp- July 31st- August 3rd
  • NDA College Nationals- April
