Scott Calabrese Resigns to Become Head Coach at UCF

MIAMI (December 6, 2016) – Scott Calabrese has stepped down as head coach of the FIU men's soccer program to become the new head coach at UCF.

"We want to thank Scott Calabrese for all that he has done here at FIU," said FIU Executive Director of Sports and Entertainment Pete Garcia. "Our program has made great strides over the past two seasons. We will now look to bring in a coach that will continue that trend and make FIU men's soccer one of the top teams in the country."

In three years at the helm of the Panthers, Calabrese recorded a 28-23-4 record and guided FIU to the Conference USA (C-USA) Tournament Championship and the NCAA Tournament in 2015. This past season Calabrese and the Panthers posted a 10-7-1 record and a 5-2-1 mark in C-USA, advancing to their second-straight C-USA Tournament title game.

That marked the first time the Panthers played in back-to-back conference championship games since FIU went to three-straight from 2002-04.

A national search will begin immediately.
