FIU’s MacLaren Places Seventh in the SunTrust Gator Women’s Invite

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (March 6, 2016) – Shooting six-over, 216, senior Meghan MacLaren finished tied for seventh in this year's SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational this past weekend.
 
The two day invitational, hosted by the Florida Gators, took place at the par-70, 6,002-yard Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.
 
MacLaren posted the Panthers' top score and finished tied for seventh among the 13-team, 75-golfer field. It marked the Cambridge, United Kingdom, native's fourth top-10 finish this season and the sixth time she finished in the top 25. Shooting three-over (73) during the first two rounds, MacLaren finished Sunday shooting par – her ninth round of the season shooting even or under par.  
 
FIU ended the tournament with team score of 897 (+57) to place 10th in the standings.
 
Following MacLaren on the leaderboard for the Panthers were junior Camila Serrano (19-over, 229; T-46th), senior Carla Jane (21-over, 231; T-54th); senior Sophie Godley (21-over, 231; T-54th) and junior Coralia Arias (27-over, 237; 68th). Sophomore Katerina Krasova, playing as an individual, shot at 22-over 232 to tie for 59th.
 
The Panthers will travel to Mesa, Ariz., to take part in this year's Notre Dame Clover Cup, March 11-13.
