INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 13, 2016) –  The FIU women's golf team has been recognized by the NCAA for its multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) for the 2014-2015 academic year, which ranks in the top 10 percent among all Division I women's golf teams. The NCAA honored more than 1,000 sports teams with public recognition awards.
 
This marks the second-straight year that women's golf has received this honor.

The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I sports teams nationally. The scores required to be in the top 10 ranged from 983 to a perfect 1,000, depending on the sport.
 
Each year, the NCAA honors select Division I sports teams by publicly recognizing their latest multi-year NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate (APR).  This announcement is part of the overall Division I academic reform effort and is intended to highlight teams that demonstrate a commitment to academic progress and retention of student-athletes by achieving the top APRs within their respective sports. 

The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester or quarter by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete. The APR includes eligibility, retention, and graduation in the calculation and provides a clear picture of the academic culture in each sport.
