MIAMI (April 5, 2016) – The duo of redshirt sophomore
Savannah Davis and sophomore
Natalia Giron have been named the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Beach Pair of the Week for the week ending April 3. It is the first time any Panther duo has been awarded the honor.
The No. 5 pair has been the most consistent for the Panthers this season. The duo has recorded a 13-3 (8-0 in CCSA) record, the best of any tandem in the conference. This past weekend at the 4
th Annual FIU Surf & Turf Invitational, Davis and Giron went a perfect 4-0 against conference opponents, defeating South Carolina, Tulane, Florida Atlantic, and No. 8 Georgia State.
Davis currently ranks tenth all-time in school history for most overall victories with 26. She is only one victory away from tying for ninth. Giron, in only her second season as a Panther has recorded 17 victories for her career.
