2016-17 FIU Women’s Tennis Slate Announced

MIAMI (July 11, 2016) – Coming off one of the Panthers' most-successful seasons in 15 years, winning 17 matches and recording a winning percentage of .850 (second-highest in school history), Head Coach Katarina Petrovic announced the 2016-17 FIU women's tennis schedule on Monday.
 
The Panthers will begin their fifth season under Petrovic with four tournaments during the Fall, opening the campaign at the Miami Fall Invitational (Sept. 23-25). FIU will close out its Fall schedule, hosting the FIU Invitational (Oct. 28-30).
 
FIU welcomes San Jose State to open up dual play on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017. The spring season opener will be the first of 12 home matches during the Spring for the Panthers, who went 7-2 at the FIU Tennis Courts last season. The Panthers will compete in eight matches away from Miami, highlighted by the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Gainesville, Florida (Jan. 28-29), featuring Florida, USF and DePaul , a trip to New York to face the No. 37-ranked Columbia Lions on Feb. 4 and a March 3 meeting at NCAA Tournament participant UNLV (No. 52 in the final ITA Rankings).    
 
FIU closes out its Spring campaign with a Senior Day showdown against Conference USA foe Florida Atlantic on April 15.
 
The 2017 C-USA Women's Tennis Championships will take place April 20-23 in Denton, Texas.
