IRVING, Texas (Jan. 10, 2017) – FIU's
Brittany Haskell has been named the Conference USA Diver of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Haskell took first place in the 1-meter and second in the 3-meter programs as the Panthers took first in the FIU Sprint Invitational on Friday, Jan. 6.
The native of London, Ontario, scored a career-best mark of 301.65 in the 1-meter program for the top spot in the meet. Her score was also a season-best among all C-USA divers. Haskell followed that with a second-place finish in the 3-meter program (265.05). Haskell and the FIU diving corps swept both events, taking the top three spots in each during the invitational.
The award is the first of Haskell's career.
The Panthers will host the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles on Saturday, Jan. 28. The meet will begin at 12:00 p.m. from the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center.
