MIAMI (Jan. 4, 2017) – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its first national rankings of the spring season and sophomore
Andrea Lazaro was recognized, ranked No. 54 in the nation by the organization.
Lazaro finished this past fall with a 6-3 mark in singles action. Back in October, Lazaro knocked off then-ranked No. 21 Caroline Brinson (Georgia) during the opening round of the 2016 ITA Southeast Regional Championships in Gainesville, Florida. The native of Barcelona, Spain, earned Second-Team All-Conference USA honors, recording a 24-9 overall record last season, including a 17-1 record at the three, four and five positions in duels for a C-USA best .944 winning percentage. Of her 24 wins, 20 of them came in straight sets.
