IRVING, Texas (November 1, 2017) -- FIU freshman Rachel Foord earned first place finishes in two-of-three matches to earn the Conference USA Diver of the Week award.
Foord took first in the diving event in two of three meets over the week at Dual-A-Pool-Ooza in New Orleans. On Saturday, Foord was first in the 3-meter springboard with a personal-best and NCAA Zone-qualifying score of 324.20. Earlier that day, she set a personal-best and Zone score of 277.60 versus host Tulane. On Friday, Foord was second only to teammate
Brooke Bouchard in the 1-meter event, with a score of 259.25 against Rice to start the weekend.
Foord is the second to win a weekly award for the Panthers, as senior diver
Rebecca Quesnel was the C-USA Diver of the Week to open the season on October 11.
The Panthers host Illinois for a two-day meet, starting Friday afternoon at 5 p.m. at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center.
