Katarina Petrovic announced on Monday morning the addition of Paulina Bakaite to the FIU women's tennis roster.
Bakaite, a native of Vilnius, Lithuania, has ranked as high as No.157 in the ITF singles Junior Ranking (Feb. 2017) and No.1171 in the women's doubles WTA ranking (Nov.2017). She played in U14, U16, and U18 Lithuania National Championships in singles and as a national team member. She also represented her country as a Fed Cup member in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
During 2016, she claimed a Junior ITF tournament win in Antalya, Turkey and played in the semifinal in two other ITF Junior tournaments in Tokyo, Japan and Riga, Latvia. She had a successful career in doubles as well, achieving five semifinals in the Juniors circuit and a final in the WTA Doubles in Antalya, Turkey.
"Paulina brings great skills and power on the court" said coach Petrovic. "I was highly impressed with her mental toughness and I am excited to see her improvement in the future."
