Eddie Silva's two-run single snapped a tie and fueled the Gold team to a 6-3 win over the Blue and a sweep of the FIU Fall World Series on Tuesday night at the FIU ballpark.

Down 3-2 in the top of the fifth inning, the Gold scored four runs. Christian Khawam led off the frame with a single to center and scored on a double into the right center field gap by Diandre Amion to tie the score. Javier Valdes was hit by a pitch from Greyson Fletcher. One batter later, Silva lined the decisive single down the left field line scoring Amion and Valdes.

Third baseman Sean Acevedo's infield single brought home Silva later in the fifth to put Gold up 6-3.

Junior left-hander Aaron Soto pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win for the Gold. Soto allowed three hits and wiggled out of a jam in the sixth. With the tying run at the plate, Acevedo robbed Lorenzo Hampton of a base hit to quell the threat.

Jan Figueroa worked around an error in the final inning to record the save for the Gold.

The Gold jumped out in front for the second straight night. Freshman Adan Fernandez hit a two-run home run - his second of the series -- in the top of the first. The dinger brought home Valdes, who doubled. Fernandez had six RBI in the two games.

The Blue took its first lead of the series in the bottom of the fourth inning on a two-run double by Clinton Gulley, who drove in all three runs for the Blue. Gulley had a sacrifice fly in the second inning.

Amion was 2 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI. Silva was 2 for 4.

For the Blue, Austin Shenton was 2 for 4 and Kobe Lopez was 2 for 3.
