MIAMI (February 24, 2017) – Even though she has not yet stepped on the court in competition for the FIU beach volleyball team,
Federica Frasca has already been recognized as a player to watch during her career with the Panthers. A 5-foot-9 freshman from Rome, Italy, Frasca, was named to the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Beach Volleyball Preseason Watch List by the league's head coaches.
Frasca was the MVP of 2014 U18 Italian Championship of Beach Volleyball and led her team to the VolleyRó A.S.D. Italian Volleyball Championships in 2015.
The Panthers open their 2017 beach season on Thursday, March 2 at Florida Atlantic and against Webber International in Boca Raton, Florida, before taking part in the UNF Beach Invitational in St. Augustine, Florida on March 4.
FIU comes into the season ranked No. 11 in the nation by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
