FIU senior
Camila Serrano (Bogota, Colombia) shot a 2-under 70 and sits in a tie for fourth place after one round of the Hurricane Invitational, held at the Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, Florida. FIU as a team is tied for 11
th after 18 of the 54-hole event.
With the team starting on the 10
th hole Serrano birdied the par-4, 351-yard opener and parred the next 13 holes. She then produced birdies on six and seven to sit at 3-under before a bogey on the last hole for the round of 70.
Senior
Coralia Arias (Quito, Ecuador) was the second-best finisher for the Panthers, posting a 3-over 75. She is in a tie for 34
th after the opening round. She started well, with three birdie and two bogeys on her first nine holes, but suffered bogeys on her last four holes to land at her final score. Like Serrano, she also birdied the 10
th hole, but also posted birdies on both par-5 holes on the back (her starting nine), on the 518-yard 15
th and 459-yard 18
th.
The Panthers will be paired again with Mercer, but Iowa State will join these two paired schools from Monday's round to start at 7:30 a.m. from the 10
th tee.
