FIU High Jumper Clarissa Cutliff Advances to NCAA Championships

MIAMI (March 1, 2017) – Fresh off her first Conference USA indoor high jump championship, FIU women's track and field standout Clarissa Cutliff, has qualified for the NCAA Division I Indoor Championships at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. The championships will take place at the Rhonda and Frosty Gilliam Jr. '80 Indoor Track Stadium, March 10-11, with the high jump competition taking place on March 10.

Cutliff, a sophomore from Orlando, Florida (Edgewater High School), is seeded seventh in the championships with a height of 1.85m, set in the season-opening meet – the Clemson Orange and Purple Classic – in Clemson, South Carolina. That mark proved to be a new school record.

Cutliff took the C-USA title in Birmingham, Alabama, with a height of 1.77m. It was her first indoor championship, however the second Conference USA championship of her career after winning the outdoor high jump championship last year.
