FIU Women’s Tennis Ranked No. 24 in Latest Oracle/ITA Rankings

MIAMI (March 14, 2017) – Riding a 10-match winning streak, the FIU women's tennis team (12-1) has moved up in this week's Oracle/ITA Women's Tennis Rankings, announced on Tuesday. Moving up two spots, FIU sits at No. 24, the highest ranking for the Panthers since the end of the 2001 season.

FIU picked up three wins this past week, including a pair of shutout victories, defeating Boston University, 7-0, on Friday, March 10, and downing then-No. 49 VCU, 4-0, on Sunday, March 12.

The Panthers have shut out seven opponents this season and have won three matches versus nationally-ranked teams in 2017. FIU is 7-0 at home this season, while its 10-match winning streak matches the season-best from a year ago and is the longest winning streak since the 2009 season, during which the Panthers won 13-straight.

FIU's only loss of the season was to No. 1 Florida back on Jan. 29.

The Panthers will next host Georgia Southern on Wednesday, March 15. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. ET.
