FIU Beach Volleyball Seeded Fifth in Upcoming CCSA Tourney

MIAMI (April 16, 2017) – The No. 14-ranked FIU beach volleyball team will be seeded fifth in the upcoming Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Tournament, set to begin on Friday, April 21 at the Lakepoint Sporting Community in Emerson, Georgia.
 
The Panthers, who just completed their final regular season weekend tournament on Saturday at the Florida State Alumni Weekend Invitational in Tallahassee, hold a 20-12 overall record and an 8-5 mark in CCSA matches. FIU has one regular season contest remaining, a single dual match at Florida Gulf Coast University on Tuesday, April 18 at 4 p.m.
 
The Panthers find themselves in Pool A along with the top-seeded Seminoles, fourth-seeded South Carolina, eighth-seeded Tulane and ninth-seeded UNCW.
 
Pool B consists of LSU (two seed), Georgia State (three seed), FAU (six seed), College of Charleston (seven seed) and UAB (10 seed).
 
The Panthers will begin postseason play at 10:30 a.m. on April 21 when they butt heads with the Gamecocks and then Florida State at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 22.
 
The semifinals will take place on April 22, beginning at 9 a.m., with the championship match having a 1 p.m. first serve.
