MIAMI (May 2, 2017) – Miami-area girls ranging from kindergarten through high school will have the opportunity to spend part of their summer vacation learning the game of volleyball from the FIU volleyball staff at the Rita Crockett Summer Volleyball Camps and Clinics. The Panthers will hold clinics during the months of June and July, with all being held on Lime Court at FIU Arena and at the FIU Sand Volleyball Complex.

The summer will kick off with the Beach Volleyball Camp from June 5-7, and the Youth Day Camp, Individual Skills Camp and Advanced Specialty Clinic all taking place on July 11-14.
The Beach Volleyball Camp will have one session; June 5-7. The camps are open to girls ages 11-18 and runs from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. daily. The cost of these camps is $125 ($100 if registered before May 15).
The Youth Day Camp will be held from July 11-14 for girls ages 6-1 and will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily. The last day of camp will run from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. The cost of the camp is $275 ($250 if registered before June 25) and lunch will be provided. This camp will help your child learn about volleyball in a fun environment and is designed to teach age appropriate skills and techniques to the athlete, while coaches teach the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork throughout the entire camp. The Individual Skills Camp will be held from July 11-14 and will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily is for girls ages 12-18. The last day of camp will run from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The cost of the camp is $350 ($325 if registered before June 25) and lunch will be provided. This camp is designed to improve basic fundamental volleyball skills including serving, passing, setting, blocking and individual and team defense; along with polishing these skills for the next level. The Advance Specialty Clinics, for girls ages 12-18, will run from; July 11-14. The cost is $385 for the full three and a half days, or $80 per individual session. The clinics will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily. The last day of camp will run from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Clinic focuses on specialized training and skill development for specific positions. The Advanced training session will consist of an hour and a half private-session with college coaches. If campers pay for the full day then they will re-join the skills camp for the remainder of the day. Or participants can pay just for the Advanced Skill Session. Groups will be small and coaches will be advanced and specialized in area of training during the first hour and a half.
