@FIUWSoccer Additional Walk-On Tryout to be Held August 17

MIAMI (August 14, 2017) – The FIU women's soccer team will hold a second walk-on tryouts for currently enrolled or incoming students for the upcoming 2017 season at the FIU Soccer Stadium. The tryout takes place on Friday, August 17, beginning at 6 p.m. (please arrive at 5:30).
 
In order to be eligible, you must complete the following steps. Be sure to use the tryout checklist (linked above in this story) for signature verifications at each location. A full packet of information is at this link. (Print off and bring completed paperwork to the correct contact - see below.)
 
SAAC
You must be a full-time student enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at FIU at the time of tryouts and currently hold and maintain a 2.4 cumulative GPA. Alison Riccobono, located in the Student-Athlete Academic Center (SAAC), must verify and sign off on this information ONLY on Friday, August 17. between 12 – 1 p.m.
 
Athletic Training Room (FlU Arena room 156)
Bring a COMPLETED physical packet and the following forms to Gabe Casanova ONLY on Friday, August 17. between 1 – 2 p.m. Athletic Tryout Release, Parent Information, Insurance Verification, First Year Physical Form, Medical History, First Year Health History, First Year Orthopedic History, Training Room Information, & Disclosure of Health Information.
 
- Urinalysis
- EKG
- Echo - if necessary depending on cardiac exam
- PPD - if necessary to be determined by questionnaire
- Proof of Sickle Cell Status
- Proof of a valid medical insurance policy
- Physical MUST be performed by a medical doctor
- Appointments can be made at the University Health Services Center for a fee of $106 or with your primary care physician
- Primary insurance policy is required to tryout. If injury is sustained during the tryout the financial responsibility will fall on perspective student-athlete.
- If you are selected for a team, you will be required to purchase a policy from a reputable company with a deductible no greater than $1000.00.
 
FIU Women's Soccer (FIU Arena Room 251)
Please drop by to meet with Coach Nonen, especially for questions and expectations. She will be available from 2 - 3 p.m. on Friday, August 17.

FIU Athletic Compliance (FIU Arena Room 154)
Bring a printed class schedule showing proof of enrollment of a minimum of 12 credit hours to any member of the compliance staff in the FIU athletic compliance office ONLY on Friday, August 17 between 3:30 - 4:30 p.m., to get a signature verifying full-time status. If you participate in a team tryout and are added to the official roster, you will be required to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center.

All paperwork is collected by the Compliance Office.
