IRVING, Texas (January 17, 2018) – Redshirt sophomore Brittany Haskell (London, Ontario, Canada) has captured her second Conference USA Diver of the Week award, the league announced today. She is one of four FIU divers to earn the weekly honor, which has been won by a Panther in all but one week of the season. She is the second Panther to win multiple awards this season.

Haskell swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard programs last Thursday as FIU defeated Central Connecticut State, 155-63 in a dual meet at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center. Haskell put up two NCAA zone-qualifying marks, with a 284.70 in the 1-meter and a 290.95 in the 3-meter program. It was her second win from the 1-meter springboard (Georgia Southern, 12/14/17), while her first in a 3-meter program this year. She previously captured Diver of the Week earlier this season, on December 20, 2017.

Senior Rebecca Quesnel (Burlington, Ontario, Canada), freshman Rachel Foord (Melbourne, Australia) and fellow sophomore Brooke Bouchard all have won the weekly recognition. Quesnel was awarded the honor on October 11 and Foord won on back-to-back weeks, November 1 and 8, and again on January 10 and Bouchard took the honor on November 22. Panthers junior swimmer Naomi Ruele (Gaborone, Botswana) was awarded C-USA Swimmer of the Week on November 8.

The Panthers finish up the home portion of the schedule on Saturday, taking on Nova Southeastern at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center at noon. Senior day ceremonies, honoring the nine outgoing members of the squad, will start at 11:30 a.m.
