The Basics
The FIU men's and women's indoor track and field teams got back to work on Friday night, Jan. 26, during day one of the prestigious Indiana University Relays at Gladstein Fieldhouse in Bloomington, Indiana. The Panthers had two athletes qualify for the finals in their respective events, while one took second in her final on Friday.

Women's Highlights

Clarissa Cutliff (Orlando, Florida/Edgewater) continued her impressive indoor season with a second-place finish in the high jump, posting a height of 1.77m. Cutliff, who earned both indoor and outdoor track & field All-America honors last year, has finished no worse than fourth this indoor season, and is coming off a second-place finish at the UAB Vulcan Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama, on Jan. 13. In that meet she posted the second-best height of her collegiate career, 1.83m.

Jada Roberson (Tampa, Florida/Hillsborough), was one of two athletes to qualify for the finals on Saturday, doing so in the 60m. Roberson finished third in the qualifying race on Friday with a time of 7.55 seconds. Roberson also had a top 10 finish in the 200m turning in a time of 24.56 seconds. Â

- The distance medley relay team, which consists of
Rahel Gerbretsadik (Tel-Aviv, Israel),
Sydne Grier (St. Johns, Florida/Bartram Trail),
Sabrina Quijano (Miami, Florida/Out Lady of Lourdes), and
Sherilene Gelderblom (Middelburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa), took second with a time of 12:06.73.

Men's Highlights
- On the men's side,
Daniel Neptune (Miami, Florida/Belen Jesuit) was the second-of-two performers on Friday to qualify for the the finals on Saturday. Neptune posted a time of 8.28 in the 60m hurdles.

- In addition,
Reed Service (Tampa, Florida/Riverview) and
Christian Williams (Hialeah, Florida/American) were bright spots for the Panthers in the long jump posting top-10 finishes with distances of 6.84m and 6.76m, respectively.
