Tigers defeat Panthers in middle game of three-game series

Missouri scored in the first five innings en route to a 22-1 win over FIU on Saturday night at the FIU ballpark.

The Tigers (2-0) got out to an 11-0 lead before the Panthers (0-2) scored in the middle game of a three-game series.

Missouri scored four runs off FIU freshman starter Logan Allen (0-1) in the first inning to build a 4-0 lead.

Kameron Misner led the Tigers offense going 3 for 5 with two home runs and five RBI.

The Panthers scored their run in the bottom of the fourth inning on back-to-back doubles from Juan Teixeira and Javier Valdes. FIU freshman Seth Cannady was 2 for 2, including a double.

FIU will try to salvage the final game of the set on Sunday afternoon. The Panthers and Tigers finish the series at 12 p.m. Sunday.
