The Basics
The FIU men's and women's indoor track and field teams got back to work on Friday night, Feb. 9, at the prestigious Grand Valey State University (GVSU) Big Meet-Friday at the Kelly Family Sports Center in Allendale, Michigan. The Panthers turned in an impressive performance, posting five top-three finishes on the day.

Women's Highlights

Clarissa Cutliff (Orlando, Florida/Edgewater) recorded her initial first-place finish of the indoor season on Friday, taking the title in the high-jump invitational event at GVSU, with a height of 1.76m. Cutliff has finished in the top four in each of her four meets this season.

- Joining Cutliff in the top three on the afternoon was
Sydnee Wilkerson (Jacksonville, Florida/Ed White) who took third in the 60m invitational, with a time of 7.62, marking her best finish of the indoor season.

Men's Highlights
- On the men's side, the Panthers excelled in the jumping events by recording two top-three finishes, and one in the top five.
Andrew Samuels (Brampton, Ontario) took third in the high jump with a height of 1.95m. His mark ties the second-best of the indoor season, while his third-place finish is the best of his indoor campaign.

- In the long jump,
Christian Williams (Hialeah, Florida/American) took third with a leap of 7.03m, while
Reed Service (Tampa, Florida/Riverview) placed fourth with a distance of 7.02m. It was Williams' best finish of the year, while Service posted personal best and his top finish of the year.
