MIAMI (March 13, 2018) – For the second-straight match, the FIU women's tennis team (7-1) shut out its opponent as the Panthers rolled past the Cleveland State Vikings (4-9), 4-0, on Tuesday afternoon of the FIU Tennis Courts.
The No. 38 Panthers claimed their seventh- victory of the season and improved 2-0 in home matches.
In doubles action, the pair of
Andrea Lazaro and
Nerma Caluk defeated Cleveland State's Anastasia Perin and Gaby Shoenberg, 6-1. The duo of
Mina Markovic and
Sandra Bozinovic topped Blanche Lenoan and Jana Shober, 6-1.
FIU opened singles play with a quick 6-0, 6-0 victory for Lazaro over Isabella Spinder. The win pushed the FIU lead to 2-0. Veksler won her sixth match of the season and defeated Alexandra Golawska 6-0, 6-2. Bozinovic clinched the match for the Panthers for the third time this season defeating Shober, 6-1, 6-2.
The Panthers will next host Columbia on Thursday, March 15. First serve is set for 1 p.m. ET.
