Spring Practice Comes to a Close for @FIUMensSoccer

FIU's staff took full advantage of evaluating Panthers as they look towards the 2018 regular season in the fall.

MIAMI (March 21, 2018) – The 2018 spring campaign has wrapped up for the FIU men's soccer team after a challenging spring schedule and invaluable time on the pitch.

FIUSports.com had a chance to speak with Head Coach Kevin Nylen about how he felt the spring season helped the team grow and develop, and how important it was to  be able to evaluate and develop the players against top-flight competition.

This past season, the Panthers posted a 12-2-4 record and a 6-0-2 mark in conference USA, earning their first-ever C-USA regular season title. FIU finished the regular season with a 11-0-4 record, the first time in school history that the Panthers recorded an undefeated regular season. FIU was also one of only two teams in Division I men's soccer to accomplish a feat, joining Indiana.

The Panthers advanced to their 19th NCAA Championship, and their 11th at Division I, winning their first-round game against Omaha.
