FIU Falls at Stetson, 3-0

DELAND, Fla. – Stetson's Tori Perkins limited FIU (22-22) to two hits through seven innings as the Hatters (23-17) defeated the Panthers, 3-0, Wednesday evening at Patricia Wilson Field. FIU's Allison Muraskin pitched 4 1/3 innings, struck out three and allowed one earned run on five hits.

The Basics
  • Stetson's Molly McLaughlin went 3-for-3 with three RBI and a home run to lead the Hatters.
  • McLaughlin put the Hatters ahead 1-0 with a RBI single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the third inning.
  • McLaughlin hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to extend the Hatters' lead to 3-0.
  • FIU's Kayla Whitehead and Tori Jones each had a hit for the Panthers.
  • Kendahl Dunford pitched the final 1 12/3 innings for FIU. She allowed just one hit and struck one batter.
  • FIU committed errors in the third and fifth innings which led to two unearned runs.
UP NEXT
FIU returns home for Conference USA action Saturday and Sunday when the Panthers host Middle Tennessee. Saturday's doubleheader is slated for 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday's series finale is scheduled for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
