The Basics
It may have been a light day in terms of FIU track and field student-athletes competing during day one of the University of Miami Hurricane Alumni Meet at Cobb Stadium in Coral Gables, however it proved to be a productive one with four FIU competitors finishing in the top five of their respective events.

Women's Highlights

Clarissa Cutliff (Orlando, Florida/Edgewater) led the way for the Panthers with her second-straight first-place finish, taking the high jump with a height of 1.81m. Cutliff, the reigning Conference USA Female Field Athlete of the Week, won the high jump last weekend at the prestigious Pepsi Florida Relays – in the Invitational division – also posting a mark of 1.81m. Â

- In the javelin,
Dina Cosic (Belgrade, Serbia), let go a throw of 42.07m, which is a new personal best. It surpasses her previous mark of 37.13m, set on the same field at the UM Hurricane Invitational on March 17.

-Â Rounding out FIU's female top five finishers was
Timberly Molden (Stone Mountain, Georgia), recording a throw of 13.26m in the shot put.

Men's Highlights
- On the men's side,
Christian Williams (Hialeah, Florida/American) posted a season-high mark of 2.01m in the high jump to place third.
