The series opener between FIU and Rice was postponed Thursday due to rain. The Panthers and Owls will now open the series Friday at 4 p.m. with a doubleheader. Both games of the doubleheader will be nine innings.

FIU (25-25, 14-12 Conference USA) enters the series tied with UTSA for fifth in the C-USA standings. Rice (23-28-2, 11-14-2 C-USA) is seventh. The Panthers have qualified for next week's C-USA Tournament, but can still improve their seeding to as high as fourth. The Owls are battling three other teams for one of the last two spots remaining in the tournament.

FIU and Rice conclude the three-game series Saturday at 12 p.m. which is Senior Day. The Panthers will honor seniors Andrew George, Christian Khawam and Chandler Raiden in a pregame ceremony.
