Andrea Lazaro was selected to compete in the 2018 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Singles Championships. FIU's tandem of junior
Maryna Veksler and sophomore
Ulyana Grib will also compete in the 2018 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Doubles Championships, as announced by the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Subcommittee.
The singles and doubles competition will be conducted
May 23-28 at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Wake Forest University will serve as host.
This will mark Lazaro's second appearance in the NCAA Championships and the fourth appearance by a FIU Panther in the women's individual championship. In doubles, Veksler and Grib will be making their first career appearances.
Lazaro is currently ranked at No. 13 in the Oracle/ITA Women's tennis individual rankings. She was named 2018 C-USA Outstanding Singles Player of the Championship. She won every singles match during the championship, helping the Panthers win their first C-USA title. The native of Barcelona, Spain, registered an overall record of 26-5 and 14-2 mark in dual action at the No. 1 position in 2017-18.
Grib and
Maryna Veksler earned the selection for the doubles championship, as they have an overall record of 18-5 and 11-3 in dual action. After winning every match during the 2018 C-USA Women's Tennis Championship, the tandem was also recognized as the Outstanding Doubles Team of the Championship.

All matches will be the best-of-three sets. No-ad scoring and a seven-point tiebreaker at six-games-all will be used for all matches. In doubles, a 10-point match tiebreaker will be played in lieu of a third set.
