MIAMI – Four FIU women's track and field standouts have been honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) earning USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.
Kenflore Atilus (Naples, Florida/Naples H.S.),
Clarissa Cutliff (Orlando, Florida/Edgewater H.S.),
Asha James (Canaan, Tobago), and
Gabrielle Rains (Sherwood Park, Alberta), were all recognized for their academic achievements during the 2018 track and field season.

Atilus (3.42 GPA in Sports and Fitness), Cutliff (3.79 GPA in Psychology), James (3.41 GPA in Psychology), and Rains (3.56 GPA in Sports and Fitness) all advanced to the NCAA Division I Outdoor Prelims qualifying them for the honor, along with their impressive grade point averages. Cutliff also advanced to the NCAA Championships in the high jump during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
- For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
