Redshirt Senior (2021): Appeared in 50 games, starting all 50 mostly at second base… Hit .267 with two home runs and 16 RBIs… Had 45 hits with nine doubles and one triple… Drew 22 walks and was hit by eight pitches for a .379 OB%... Stole seven bases in 10 attempts… Collect 12 multi-hit games… Had four multi-RBI games… Hit his first career home run against FAU on 4/23… Ranks 18th all-time in program history with 195 career hits.

Senior (2020): Appeared in 15 games, started all 15... Hit .367 with two doubles and six RBIs... Drew 11 walks and was hit by one pitch... Tied for second on the team with four stolen bases... Ranked third on the team with a .472 OB%... Had a five-game hitting streak snapped against Pepperdine on 3/1... Tied for Second on the team with seven multiple hit games with seven... Had a four-hit, three-run, one RBI game against Fordham against on 2/16.  *Canceled due to COVID-19 Outbreak*

Junior (2019): Appeared in 53 games, started 49… Hit .316 with 11 doubles and 28 RBIs… Drew 20 walks and was hit by seven pitches… Led all Panthers and placed third in the conference with 20 stolen bases… Second on the team with a .395 OB%... Had a 13-game hitting streak snapped against Bethune-Cookman on 5/1… Tied for the team lead with 19 multiple hit games… Had a four-hit, three-stolen base, two RBI game against Charlotte on 4/27.

Sophomore (2018): Played in 44 games, started 38...Solidified the leadoff spot in the order and on the field at shortstop, hitting .342 (second on the team) with seven doubles and 13 RBI...Tied a Conference USA Championship single-game record by collecting five hits (5 for 5) against Florida Atlantic in the opening round of the conference tournament. Was 6 for 9 at the C-USA Championship...Had a nine-game hitting streak (3/10-3/20) where he went 16 for 37 (.432)...Finished the season 12 for 20 (.600) on a five-game hit streak...Since his move from second base to shortstop near mid-season, committed just two errors.

Freshman (2017): Started 26 games, hit .178 with 5 RBI, scored 17 runs and had 16 hits. . .Started the season with a six-game hitting streak, including going 2 for 4 with 4 RBI in the first game of a doubleheader against Manhattan (3/4).

Prior to FIU: Played at Somerset Academy in Pembroke Pines...Named District Player of the Year (2015, 2016)...Earned a spot on Sun-Sentinel First Team and All-Miami-Dade First Team...Recruited by Alabama State.

Personal: Son of Carlos Cartaya and Mary Perez de Corcho...Majoring in sport management.
