Former Panther Texeira Named to ASBA All-Star Game

The former Panther continues her successful career in ASBA

MIAMI (July 12, 2019) - Former FIU softball great Stephanie Texeira has been named to the 2019 American Softball Association (ASBA) All-Star Game, continuing her successful career professional.

The game will be held on Saturday, July 13 in Satsuma, Alabama. The game will be dedicated to promoting cancer awareness, with the ASBA donating proceeds from the game to the St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. 

Texeira, in her second season with the league, was selected in the inaugural ASBA draft last summer in the eighth round by Moh-beel! USA. Following her first season, Texeira was named to the league's First Team All-ASBA and the All-Defensive Team. 

At FIU, Texeira was a four-time all-conference honoree with the Panthers, while also winning the C-USA Freshman of the Year award in 2014. The Miami native graduated FIU as the program's all-time leader in batting average (.405), slugging percentage (.759), on-base (.543), runs (159), home runs (47), RBI (190), walks (147), total bases (420), defensive putouts (1,191), while second in doubles (45) and fifth in hits (224).
