DALLAS (Aug. 1, 2019) – Conference USA announced this past week that FIU was recognized as the best in the league, after being awarded the C-USA SAAC Cup.

The C-USA SAAC Cup is awarded to the institution with the highest overall point total among member schools. The areas of emphasis for the SAAC Cup include academic excellence, career development, financial literacy and community service.

"I want to congratulate our student-athletes, coaches, support staff, and SAAC for their tremendous work in these four key areas," Executive Director of Sports and Entertainment Pete Garcia said. "Our student-athletes are the embodiment of the core values we actively embrace within the athletic department and we are proud of their accomplishments."
