DALLAS (Feb. 10, 2020) – After a stellar performance in the circle this past week for FIU softball, Allison Muraskin was named the Conference USA Co-Pitcher of the Week along with Hope Trautwein of North Texas, the league office announced on Monday.

The recognition for Muraskin marks her first conference weekly award in her collegiate career. The weekly conference honor is the first for any Panther this season.

"I am super proud of Ally's effort in the circle, working the zone and coming through in tight situations this weekend," said head coach Chris Steiner-Wilcoxson. "I am proud of her efforts and the way she battled all weekend in the circle. She gave the team a chance to win."

Muraskin helped lead the Panthers to a pair of Power 5 wins, as the junior posted a 0.47 ERA average. The Deerfield Beach, Florida native pitched two complete games and 15 innings, allowing just eight hits and no earned runs over three games. The junior also fanned six batters and picked up two wins over the weekend. The pitcher leads FIU in ERA, innings pitched, wins and complete games. Muraskin leads the conference in innings pitched and wins, while ranking second in ERA and tied seventh in batters struck out.

The Panthers posted a 2-1 record at the Felsberg Invitational, with wins over Cal (6-1) and Syracuse (2-1).
