Marks assisted in the Panthers reaching an impressive 25-7 mark in 2021. FIU topped six ranked opponents this season, including a historic victory at then-ranked No. 3 Florida State.
With Marks' guidance, Roberta Ribeiro and Federica Frasca were named to the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) all-conference team while Paige Kalkhoff received all-freshman team honors from the conference. Following a solid run at the league's tournament, Marks saw Ali Denney and Lina Bernier take home all-tournament accolades.
This new award was created in 2021 to honor up-and-coming beach coaching talent at all levels of the sport. These rising stars are hard-working and passionate about teaching, and they demonstrate dedication to the fast-growing sport of beach volleyball. Nominees had to be younger than 30 years old in 2020 to qualify for the award.
